Polly Crosby

Polly Crosby is a gifted literary fiction author, best known for her enchanting debut novel, "The Book of Hidden Wonders" (originally titled "The Illustrated Child"). This captivating story revolves around a young girl who is the subject of her father's books, which hold secrets about their family. Crosby's ability to weave a profoundly imaginative tale showcases her writing and storytelling talents. Interestingly, she completed this novel while taking advantage of the Curtis Brown Creative's Yesterday Scholarship, which provided her with the necessary time to finish her masterpiece.

Raised on the Suffolk coast, Crosby now resides in Norfolk with her husband. She grew up surrounded by nature, which has significantly influenced her writing. Crosby's childhood experiences and coastal upbringing have allowed her to create vivid and imaginative worlds in her stories. At the moment, she is immersed in crafting another novel, ensuring her readers have more captivating tales to look forward to.

In addition to her success with "The Book of Hidden Wonders," Crosby has an impressive list of achievements. In 2018, she was the recipient of the prestigious Curtis Brown Creative's Yesterday Scholarship and was honored as the runner-up in the Bridport Prize's Peggy Chapman Andrews Award for a First Novel. That same year, she was awarded the Annabel Abbs Creative Writing Scholarship for the esteemed MA program at the University of East Anglia. Crosby's third novel, "Vita & the Birds," was released in May, and her first novel for young adults, "This Tale is Forbidden," is set to be published in January 2024.
