Priscilla Morris is a British novelist of Cornish-Bosnian descent, best known for her critically acclaimed debut novel "Black Butterflies." Inspired by her family history and the Siege of Sarajevo, the book explores themes of resilience, loss, and hope through the story of a Bosnian artist. Published in 2022, the novel was shortlisted for the 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction and four other literary awards, with translations available in multiple languages, including Bosnian, Italian, and Arabic.
Morris holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and studied Spanish, Italian, and Social Anthropology at Cambridge University. Raised in London with summers spent in Sarajevo, her multicultural background deeply influences her writing. She currently resides in Ireland and teaches creative writing online while organizing writing retreats in Catalonia.
