R. Bruce Logan is a retired U.S. Army officer and management consultant who has authored three books since stepping away from his professional careers. His debut work, the memoir "Back to Vietnam: Tours of the Heart" (2013), was co-written with his wife, Elaine Head, and reflects on their shared experiences in Southeast Asia. Logan later transitioned to fiction with his first novel, "Finding Lien," followed by his second novel, "As the Lotus Blooms," released in September 2018. His writing draws heavily from his military service in Vietnam and his subsequent volunteer work in the region.
Logan's literary focus intertwines personal history with broader social themes, particularly the challenges faced by Vietnamese communities. His time as a young officer during the Vietnam War and later as a volunteer deeply informs his narratives, blending memoiristic elements with fictional storytelling. Now residing on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, he dedicates significant effort to raising awareness and support for social issues affecting Vietnam, his adopted second home.
