R.W. Peake is a well-known American author of historical fiction, best recognized for his long-running book series, "Matching with Caesar." Peake's writing career began as a child when he wrote a novel that was never published. After serving in the Marines, he went on to study for a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Houston. Peake's first novel was published when he was 50 years old.
Peake's love for historical fiction was nurtured by his long-term relationship with the famous author Louis L'Amour, whose work significantly influenced his life philosophy. Before the tech bubble burst in 2000, Peake had a successful career in the software industry, becoming a paper millionaire. He then decided to pursue his passion for writing, which led him to his fourth and final career.
Peake's "Matching with Caesar" series is his most popular work, comprising eighteen volumes, with the nineteenth one on the way. In addition to this, he has also written an alternate history series, "Caesar Ascending," which covers a ten-year period, culminating with Caesar and the characters from the original series reaching the end of the known world, the fabled Islands of Wa, known today as Japan.
Peake has also started a new series, "The Titus Chronicles," featuring a young Anglo-Saxon farmer's son named Titus of Cissanbyrig. This series is set in the same world as "Matching with Caesar," with Titus following the same path as his predecessor, Titus Pullus. Peake currently resides on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, where he lives with his yellow Labs, Sadie and Titus, named after the main character of his "Matching with Caesar" series.
