Rachel Barenbaum

Rachel Barenbaum is a talented author, known for her vivid and engaging novels. She is a graduate of Grub Street’s Novel Incubator program, where she honed her writing skills and developed her unique voice. Prior to her writing career, Barenbaum worked as a hedge fund manager and a spin instructor, demonstrating her versatility and drive in various fields. She then chose to leave the hustle and bustle of the city to move to the New Hampshire woods, where she could focus on her writing.

Barenbaum’s work has been praised by critics and readers alike. Her second novel, Atomic Anna, received rave reviews from publications such as The New York Times Book Review, which described it as “masterfully plotted,” and the LA Review of Books, which called it “propulsive and intimate.” Her debut novel, A Bend in the Stars, was also met with critical acclaim, being named a New York Times Summer Reading Selection and a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection. These accomplishments speak to Barenbaum’s talent and dedication as a writer.

In addition to her work as an author, Barenbaum is also a prolific writer and reviewer. She is also a Scholar in Residence at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis, where she continues to explore and expand her knowledge of literature and philosophy.
