Rae Meadows

Rae Meadows is the author of five novels, including the forthcoming "Winterland" and the critically acclaimed "I Will Send Rain." Her works have garnered widespread recognition, with "I Will Send Rain" receiving starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and Booklist, as well as being named an Indie Next pick and an Amazon Editor's selection. Meadows has also been honored with the Goldenberg Prize for Fiction, the Hackney Literary Award for the novel, and the Utah Book Award, cementing her reputation as a distinguished voice in contemporary fiction.

Born in Brussels, Meadows grew up in Cleveland and San Diego before studying Art History at Stanford University. After working in advertising, she pursued writing, attending workshops and earning an MFA from the University of Utah. Her debut novel, "Calling Out," drew inspiration from her time answering phones at an escort service and went on to win the Utah Book Award for fiction, among other accolades. Her subsequent novels, including "No One Tells Everything" and "Mercy Train" (published in hardcover as "Mothers and Daughters"), have been celebrated for their compelling narratives and have achieved international success, with translations in multiple languages.

Meadows’s writing often explores themes of family, resilience, and historical settings, blending meticulous research with emotional depth. Her novel "Mercy Train" was a Target Emerging Authors selection and became a bestseller in the Netherlands. Currently residing in Brooklyn with her family, Meadows continues to craft stories that resonate with readers and critics alike.
