Randy Ribay is a highly accomplished Filipino-American author, best known for his work in young adult fiction. In addition to his writing career, Ribay is also a dedicated high school English teacher. His passion for literature and education is evident in his work, as he creates engaging and thought-provoking novels for young readers.
Ribay's most recent novel, "Patron Saints of Nothing," has received critical acclaim, earning five starred reviews and numerous awards and accolades. The book, which explores themes of family, identity, and justice, was a finalist for the National Book Award, LA Times Book Prize, Walden Book Award, Edgar Award, International Thriller Writers Award, and the CILIP Carnegie Medal. Ribay's other works, including "Project Kawayan," "After the Shot Drops," and "An Infinite Number of Parallel Universes," have also been well-received by critics and readers alike.
Beyond his work as a writer and teacher, Ribay is a self-proclaimed fan of great television shows and an avid gamer. He is also a devoted husband and the guardian of his dogs. Ribay was born in the Philippines and raised in the Midwest, and he holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an Ed.M. in Language and Literacy from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, son, and cat-like dog.
