Ray Stoeve

Ray Stoeve is a young adult author known for their acclaimed novels "Between Perfect and Real" (2021) and "Arden Grey" (2022), both of which were selected as Junior Library Guild Gold Standard titles. Their work also appears in the anthology "Take the Mic: Fictional Stories of Everyday Resistance", showcasing their commitment to uplifting marginalized voices through fiction. Stoeve's writing explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and resilience, often centering queer and trans experiences with authenticity and depth.

Beyond their novels, Stoeve has made significant contributions to the literary community, including the creation of the YA/MG Trans and Nonbinary Voices Masterlist, a comprehensive resource tracking trans-authored books featuring trans characters. Their dedication to advocacy earned them a Made at Hugo House Fellowship in 2016-2017.
