Raymond Fleischmann

Raymond Fleischmann is a mystery author, best known for his debut novel, "How Quickly She Disappears," published by Penguin Random House (Berkley Books). Fleischmann has a diverse background in writing, having grown up outside Washington and earning his bachelor's and graduate degrees in the Midwest. He has lived in various places, including Seattle, before settling in Bloomington, Indiana, where he currently resides with his wife and daughters.

Fleischmann's path to writing was not traditional. Unlike many authors, he did not grow up with a love for fiction. In fact, he did not discover his passion for prose until college, where he initially studied comic book writing. Fleischmann even created his own scriptwriting for comics major, which he named "Writing for Sequential Art." However, after taking some fiction workshops, he found that he preferred writing novels and short stories over comics. Despite this, Fleischmann still has a deep appreciation for comics, which he considers his first love.

In addition to his debut novel, Fleischmann has published short fiction in several prestigious publications, including "The Los Angeles Review," "The Iowa Review," "The Pinch," and the "Cimarron Review." He earned his MFA from Ohio State University and has received numerous fellowships and scholarships from institutions such as the Sewanee Writers' Conference and Richard Hugo House. Fleischmann's writing has been recognized for its quality and depth, making him a rising star in the literary world.
