Raymond Atkins

Raymond L. Atkins is an acclaimed and award-winning American author, best known for his Southern fiction, paranormal, mystery, and humor stories. He was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on August 27, 1955, and spent a significant portion of his teenage years in Valley Head, Alabama. Atkins now resides in Rome, Georgia, where he works as an instructor of English at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. He shares his life with a patient wife and a fat dog in a 110-year-old house by the Etowah River.

Atkins has written several captivating standalone novels, including "The Front Porch Prophet," "Sorrow Wood," "Camp Redemption," and "Sweetwater Blues." His debut novel, "The Front Porch Prophet," was published in 2008 by Medallion Press and earned him the Georgia Author of the Year Award for First Novel.
