Rebecca Drake

Rebecca Drake is an accomplished American author, well-known for her psychological suspense novels. She was born in New York City and spent her childhood moving around the country with her family. In just twelve years, Drake attended nine different schools, including four different high schools, which required her to constantly adapt to new environments. This nomadic childhood shaped her experiences and undoubtedly influenced her writing, as she often explores themes of relationships, identity, and the complexities of human nature in her work.

Drake's literary career is marked by a string of successful novels and short stories. Her latest book, JUST BETWEEN US, received high praise from O, The Oprah Magazine, which hailed it as a "compulsively readable thriller." Publisher's Weekly and the Associated Press also lauded the novel, describing it as "tense, bombshell laden and action-packed" and "twisty and compelling," respectively. Her previous work, ONLY EVER YOU, was handpicked by Barnes & Noble as a top thriller, and Library Journal's starred review declared it a "gripping domestic thriller." Drake's other notable works include DON'T BE AFRAID, THE NEXT KILLING, and THE DEAD PLACE, as well as short fiction featured in various anthologies such as PITTSBURGH NOIR, SWAMP KILLERS, and A THOUSAND DOORS.

A native of New York City and a proud Penn State graduate, Drake has lived in eight cities across the United States and even spent time in Doha, Qatar. Her experiences living in different places have no doubt contributed to the rich and diverse settings in her novels. In addition to her writing, Drake has also been an instructor in Seton Hill University's Writing Popular Fiction MFA program. Currently, she resides in Pittsburgh with her husband, two children, a large cat, and a little dog, where she continues to craft her thought-provoking and suspenseful novels.
