Rebecca Kim Wells

Rebecca Kim Wells is an American author who has made a name for herself in the world of young adult (YA) fantasy fiction. Born in California, Wells moved eastward in search of a more varied climate and a new set of experiences. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Simmons College.

Wells' debut novel, Shatter the Sky, was published in 2019 to critical acclaim. The book tells the story of an unapologetically bisexual heroine, and Wells has spoken about her desire to create a character who stands out because of her qualities and actions, rather than her sexual orientation. The novel's success has been followed up with the publication of Storm the Earth and Briar Girls, further establishing Wells as a rising star in the YA fantasy genre.

In addition to her work as a writer, Wells is also an employee at a Massachusetts independent bookstore. She uses her free time to pursue her writing, as well as her other interests, which include singing along to musicals, playing soccer, and drinking tea. Wells' commitment to her craft and her passion for storytelling have made her a beloved figure in the YA fantasy community, and her work continues to inspire and captivate readers of all ages.
