Rena Mason is a highly accomplished author with a number of awards and accolades to her name. She has won the Bram Stoker Award® on three separate occasions, for her novel "The Evolutionist" and her short story "The Devil's Throat." In addition to these accomplishments, she was also a quarter-finalist in the 2014 Stage 32 /The Blood List Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest. Mason has published her work in a variety of mediums, including anthologies, magazines, and books on writing. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Horror Writers Association, Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, The International Screenwriters' Association, Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America, and the Public Safety Writers Association.
In addition to her work as a writer, Mason is also an active member of the Horror Writer's Association. She writes a column for the HWA Monthly Newsletter called "Recently Born of Horrific Minds" and occasionally contributes articles. She also volunteers her time and energy to support the organization and its mission. Mason is a fan of a wide range of genres, including horror, sci-fi, science, history, historical fiction, mysteries, and thrillers. She enjoys incorporating her diverse interests into her stories, which often explore everyday life through a dark and suspenseful lens.
Mason is an avid SCUBA diver and has traveled the world, diving in a variety of locations and incorporating her experiences into her writing. She currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her family. In her free time, she enjoys diving, reading, and exploring the world around her.
