Richard Houston is an American author, originally from the world of software engineering, who has found success in his third career as a writer. He was born and raised in the United States and currently resides in Missouri, where he enjoys the scenic beauty of the state with his wife and grandchild.
Houston spent the first twenty years of his professional life working as a carpenter and roofer, all the while pursuing his education. He eventually earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics, which opened the door to a successful career in software engineering. Over the next twenty-five years, Houston worked on the Space Shuttle at both Vandenberg AFB and Johnson Space Center, making significant contributions to the field. Following this, he founded his own company, Mind SofTools, where he developed software for some of the biggest companies in America.
In 2007, after a long and successful career in software engineering, Houston retired early and moved to Warsaw, Missouri. There, he built a home next to the lake, fulfilling his dream of living in a place with a view "one could die for." It was in this beautiful setting that Houston discovered his passion for writing. He now spends much of his time crafting his novels, drawing inspiration from his surroundings and his own life experiences.
Houston is best known for his "Books to Die For" series, which began in 2012 with the release of "A View to Die For." He is also working on the second novel in the Jacob Martin series. As a USA Today Best Selling author, Houston's work has resonated with readers and critics alike, earning him a place among the top mystery authors in the country. When he's not writing, Houston enjoys spending time with his family, including their two dachshunds and a rescue dog that is mostly Golden Retriever.
