Richard Rohr is an American Franciscan priest and spiritual author based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received ordination as a Roman Catholic priest in 1970 and soon after established the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati. In 1987, he founded the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, where he currently serves as the academic dean of the Living School for Action and Contemplation. Rohr's literary works are deeply rooted in Christian mysticism and the perennial tradition, and he has been recognized by PBS as one of the most widely acclaimed authors and speakers on spirituality worldwide.\n \nFr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher, bearing witness to the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. His teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy, which emphasizes practices of contemplation, self-emptying, and radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized. Rohr has written numerous books, including "Everything Belongs," "Adam’s Return," "The Naked Now," "Breathing Under Water," "Falling Upward," "Immortal Diamond," "Eager to Love," and "The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation (with Mike Morrell)."\n \nRohr has been featured on NPR's "This I Believe," and has appeared as a guest on the Oprah and Friends radio show and on Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul Sunday.
