Richard Russo

Richard Russo is a highly respected American author, best known for his literary fiction. He has written more than seven bestselling novels, as well as two collections of stories and a memoir. In 2002, Russo was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his novel, Empire Falls. This novel, along with Nobody’s Fool, has been adapted into a screenplay for film and television, with Empire Falls becoming an award-winning television film.

Richard Russo was born and raised in Johnston, New York. After completing his education, he joined the University of Arizona where he received an undergraduate degree, Master’s degree, and a Doctoral degree. When his debut novel was published in 1986, Russo was a lecturer at the Southern Illinois English department. His writing career has been marked by critical acclaim and commercial success, with his works earning him numerous accolades and a devoted following.
