Rio Cortez

Rio Cortez is an accomplished author, known for her work in both poetry and children's literature. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and currently resides in Harlem, New York. Cortez has received numerous awards for her writing, including the 2012 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and a 2017 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship.

Cortez's debut poetry collection, Golden Ax, is set to be published by Penguin Books in August 2022.
