Rita Bradshaw is a pseudonym for Helen Brooks, a British author born in 1950 in Northampton, England. Raised under Christian values by her mother Vi Whitsey, Bradshaw's life was forever changed when she met her husband Clive at the young age of sixteen. Together, they have built a beautiful life filled with love, three children, and a constantly changing menagerie of pets. Although they have considered acquiring a holiday home near the sea, Bradshaw has never felt compelled to leave her hometown of Northampton, where she continues to reside with her family.
Prior to becoming a successful author, Bradshaw worked as a secretary for many years. However, as she approached the milestone of forty, she decided to resurrect two teenage ambitions: writing a novel and learning to drive. After one rewrite, her first novel was accepted by Mills and Boon in 1992, and she passed her driving test the same year. Since then, she has written over 50 novels, including several sagas under the name Rita Bradshaw. Her career as a writer has brought her immense joy, and she cherishes the opportunity to explore what makes people tick, even when her characters take on a life of their own. As a devoted Christian and animal lover, Bradshaw always finds time to enjoy hobbies such as long walks, meals out, cinema or theatre, reading, and swimming, in between writing and spending time with her loved ones.
