Robert Jackson Bennett is a highly acclaimed American author, best known for his works in the fantasy, speculative fiction, horror, mystery, and thriller genres. He is the author of the Divine Cities series, which has garnered much critical acclaim and numerous award nominations. Bennett has won the Shirley Jackson Award for Best Novel twice, an Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original, the 2010 Sydney J. Bounds Award for Best Newcomer, and a Philip K. Dick Citation of Excellence.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1984, Bennett spent his formative years in Texas. He completed his academic studies at the University of Texas before embarking on his writing career. His debut novel, Mr. Shivers, was published in 2010, and he has since written several successful novels. Bennett's unique writing style, characterized by intricate plot development and vivid characterization, has earned him numerous prestigious awards and nominations. City of Blades, another critically acclaimed work, was a finalist for the 2015 World Fantasy, Locus, and British Fantasy Awards. City of Miracles is currently in stores, and the entire Divine Cities trilogy is nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Series. Bennett's eighth novel, Foundryside, the first installment of The Founders Trilogy, will be released on August 23rd of 2018. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and children.
