Robert R. McCammon

Robert R. McCammon is a prominent American author, best known for his horror novels. He was born in 1952 in Alabama and became a major name in horror fiction during its height of popularity. However, following the publication of his novel "Gone South," McCammon went into a depression and took a break from writing for several years.

During his time as a full-time horror writer, McCammon penned many popular novels, including "Boy's Life" and "Swan Song." These works, along with others, established him as a significant voice in the genre. After his hiatus, McCammon returned to writing with a newfound interest in historical fiction.

McCammon's latest book, "Seven Shades of Evil," is the ninth book in the Matthew Corbett series. The series, which began with "Speaks the Nightbird," has gained a dedicated following, and McCammon's fans eagerly await each new installment. He currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama, and is working on the tenth and final Matthew Corbett book, "Leviathan."

In addition to his work in historical fiction, McCammon is also known for his New York Times bestselling novels "Boy's Life" and "Speaks the Nightbird," as well as his 2018 novel "The Listener" and his 2019 novel "Cardinal Black." With over four million copies of his books in print, McCammon has established a reputation as a skilled and engaging storyteller.
