Robin Oliveira

Robin Oliveira is a distinguished American author, known for her historical fiction, Civil War, adult fiction, and mystery novels. She was born in Albany, New York, in 1954 and spent her childhood in Loudonville. After completing her high school education at Shaker High School, Oliveira pursued her undergraduate degree in Russian language from Montana State University in 1976. Her passion for Russian literature led her to study at the Pushkin House Institute in Moscow, but she soon realized that this field was not conducive to a viable career.

Oliveira then decided to pursue a career in nursing and became a registered nurse, specializing in bone marrow transplant and critical care. She worked in Seattle and gained extensive experience in her field. However, her love for literature never waned, and she continued to write. Oliveira later obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, which further honed her writing skills.

Robin Oliveira is also an accomplished literary editor and has worked as the fiction editor for the literary magazine upstreet and as an assistant editor at Narrative Magazine. Her exceptional writing skills have earned her numerous accolades, including the James Jones First Novel Fellowship in 2007 for her novel-in-progress, "The Last Beautiful Day." She is a New York Times bestselling author of three novels, namely, "My Name is Mary Sutter," "I Always Loved You," and "Winter Sisters." Oliveira's novels are known for their meticulous research, and she enjoys traveling, cycling, hiking, and reading in her free time.
