Robin Pilcher is a successful British author, who began his writing career later in life, in his late forties. This delay in starting his writing career has been a source of humor, but it does not diminish his abilities as an author. In fact, his books are known for their fascination and engrossment, which suggests that he learned a great deal about writing from his equally famous mother, Rosamunde Pilcher, who is also a well-known author.
Born on 10 August 1950, Robin Pilcher is the eldest son of Rosamunde Pilcher, formerly known as Jane Fraser, and Graham Hope Pilcher. Before becoming an author, Pilcher tried his hand at various professions, including being a cameraman, a songwriter, and a farmer. He also co-managed a mail order business and held numerous other jobs. Currently, he resides near Dundee, Scotland, with his wife and children, and in the Sierra de Aracena mountain area of Andalusia, Spain. He plans to establish a writing institute in Spain, supported by the Pilcher Foundation of Creative Writing.
