Ross Greenwood is a critically acclaimed author of crime and thriller novels, born in 1973 in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, where he spent his childhood and most of his early adulthood years. After leaving Peterborough, he lived and worked in various parts of the United States and other parts of the world, but found himself returning to his hometown many times over the years when things went awry in his life. It was during one such occasion that he met his spouse while walking the family dog.
Before becoming a novelist, Greenwood worked in sales management and then spent four years as a prison officer. It was during his time as a prison officer that he was able to complete his debut novel, "Fifty Years of Fear," in the early morning hours while battling insomnia at his workplace in the prison. Greenwood is known for his humorous and thought-provoking novels that have thrilled audiences for years. He now has more than eight novels in the "Dark Lives" and "DI Barton" series, as well as several standalone novels.
Greenwood's works often explore the lives affected by prison and also features a detective series starring DI John Barton. His book "The Snow Killer" spent a week at number one on the Apple Audiobook Charts, and "The Cold Killer" has twice been a top 10 Amazon bestseller for Audible. His other notable works include "Canaries in the Coal Mine," "The Ice Killer," "The Fire Killer," "The Santa Killer," "Lifer," "Survivor," "Chancer," "Jail Break," "Prisoner Hunter," "Death on Cromer Beach," "Death in Paradise," "Death in Bacton Woods" and "Prisoner."
