Roxane Gay

Roxane Gay is a highly accomplished American author, professor, commentator, and editor. Born in 1974, she has made a significant impact in the literary world with her writing appearing in numerous prestigious publications such as the Oxford American, McSweeney's, Tin House, and the New York Times. Gay's work has also been featured in several editions of the Best American Mystery Stories and Best American Short Stories, as well as in the New York Times Book Review and the Los Angeles Times.

Gay's educational background is equally impressive, having graduated from the University of Nebraska and earning her PhD in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University. She has served as an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois University and later joined Purdue University as an associate professor in the creative writing department. It was around this time that her writing career took off, with her work gaining recognition and acclaim from both critics and readers alike.

As an author, Gay has written several highly regarded books, including "Ayiti," "An Untamed State," the New York Times bestseller "Bad Feminist," the nationally bestseller "Difficult Women," and the New York Times bestseller "Hunger: A Memoir of My Body." She has also ventured into the world of comic books, authoring "World of Wakanda" for Marvel. In addition to her work in print, Gay is also a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times and hosts The Audacious Book Club, which can be found on her newsletter, The Audacity. She has several books forthcoming and is also working on television and film projects.
