Roy MacGregor

Roy MacGregor is a highly accomplished author and actor, who has made significant contributions to the field of hockey journalism. He was bestowed with the prestigious Officer title in the Order of Canada, which is one of the country's highest honors for merit. MacGregor has been deeply involved in hockey throughout his life, having played all-star hockey in his hometown of Huntsville, Ontario, and even coaching the sport. He continues to play old-timers hockey in Ottawa, where he currently resides with his wife, Ellen. Together, they have four grown children.

MacGregor is a celebrated author in hockey literature, having written several classics on the subject. His book, "Home Team: Fathers, Sons and Hockey," was shortlisted for the esteemed Governor General's Award for Literature. He also co-authored "Home Game" with Ken Dryden, which became a bestseller, as did "Road Games: A Year in the Life of the NHL," "The Seven A.M. Practice," and his latest work, "Wayne Gretzky's Ghost: And Other Tales from a Lifetime in Hockey." MacGregor's writing has earned him numerous accolades, including the Elmer Ferguson Award for excellence in hockey journalism from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.
