Alice Oseman

Alice Oseman is a highly acclaimed author, illustrator, and screenwriter, who was born in Kent, England on October 16, 1994. She was educated at Rochester Grammar School. Oseman began her writing career at a young age, with her first novel, "Solitaire," being published when she was just nineteen years old. This book, along with her subsequent YA contemporary novels, "Radio Silence," "I Was Born for This," and "Loveless," have all been highly praised for their nuanced and authentic portrayals of teenage life and relationships.

In addition to her written work, Oseman is also the creator of the LGBTQ+ YA romance webcomic "Heartstopper," which has since been published in physical form by Hachette Children's Books. The television adaptation of "Heartstopper," produced by See-Saw, is set to be released on Netflix, with Oseman serving as the writer, creator, and executive producer. This project has already received critical acclaim, winning an Emmy Award. Oseman's involvement in the production of the show has been extensive, with her being involved in casting and music selection.

Oseman's work has been recognized with numerous award nominations, including for the YA Book Prize, the Inky Awards, the Carnegie Medal, and the Goodreads Choice Awards. She has also been named the Attitude Person of the Year 2023, and The British Book Awards Illustrator of the Year.
