Andrew Peterson is an acclaimed American author, best known for his thrilling novels. He was born and raised in San Diego, California, and attended La Jolla High School before earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. Peterson's interest in weapons and his high level of proficiency as a marksman has earned him the classification of Master in the NRA’s High Power Rifle ranking system. His expertise in this area has also led to many speaking engagements, where he shares his knowledge in craft workshops and ATF canine demonstrations.
Peterson began his writing career in 1990, selling his first short story, 'Mr. Haggarty's Shop', to the San Diego Writers Monthly in 1992. After attending a writer's conference in 2005, he became serious about writing novels and began his Nathan McBride series. The series features Nathan McBride, a brutally effective, trained Marine scout sniper and former CIA operations officer. Peterson's debut novel, 'First to Kill', was originally published in 2008 and has since been translated into six languages. He has since written several more novels in the series, including "Forced to Kill", "Option to Kill", "Ready to Kill", "Contract to Kill", and "Right to Kill".
In addition to his writing, Peterson is also an active supporter of the military. He has visited veteran hospitals to visit and give books to patients, and in 2011, he had the privilege of attending Operation Thriller II, a USO tour to Afghanistan. During the tour, he personally thanked troops for their service and has since donated over 3,000 books to troops serving overseas and to wounded warriors recovering in Naval and Army hospitals worldwide.
Peterson currently lives in Monterey County, California with his wife and their three dogs. When he's not writing, he enjoys scuba diving, target shooting, flying helicopters, hiking and camping, and an occasional round of golf.
