Annette Gordon-Reed

Annette Gordon-Reed is a highly accomplished historian and law professor, best known for her groundbreaking work on the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings. She has been honored with numerous awards for her writing, including the National Book Award for Nonfiction and a Pulitzer Prize in History.

Gordon-Reed was born and raised in Livingston, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her law degree from Harvard University. Currently, she holds the position of professor of law at New York Law School and a professor of history at Rutgers University.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Gordon-Reed has authored several influential books. Her work, "Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings: An American Controversy," helped to shed light on the long-standing debate surrounding Jefferson's relationship with Hemings. Her book, "The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family," further explored the lives of the Hemings family and their connection to Thomas Jefferson.
