Arwen Elys Dayton

Arwen Elys Dayton is an American novelist, best known for her works such as the Seeker series and the novel Resurrection. From a young age, Dayton had a passion for writing, having written her first story at the age of eight. This early start in storytelling was influenced by her love for science fiction authors like Asimov, Bradbury, Vonnegut, and Herbert. She also had a fondness for historical fiction, citing works such as Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court and Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc, and Mary Renault’s The King Must Die as some of her favorites.

Before attending Stanford, Dayton gained writing experience by working as a magazine article writer for PBS and as a scriptwriter for the Eddie Files, a popular show. This experience proved to be valuable as she transitioned into writing novels and screenplays, with Resurrection and Sovereign’s Hold becoming Amazon bestsellers in the US and UK. In 2013, Columbia Pictures acquired the rights to the Seeker series, which will be adapted into film by the Mark Gordon Company.

In addition to her professional writing career, Dayton is also dedicated to researching her stories, often traveling to various locations around the world to gather information and inspiration. Some of these places include the Great Pyramid, Hong Kong, Scotland, and the Baltic Sea. Dayton's meticulous research and attention to detail allow her to create immersive worlds and compelling characters in her stories.

Dayton currently resides on the West Coast of the United States with her husband and their three children. She is an active member of the writing community and can be found online through her website, arwenelysdayton.com, and social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Dayton is represented by Jodi Reamer at Writers House.
