Åsa Larsson

Asa Larsson is a highly regarded author from Sweden, renowned for her contribution to the crime fiction genre. She was born on June 28, 1966, in Uppsala, Sweden, and spent her childhood in Kiruna, a location in the far north of the country. Before she became a full-time writer, Larsson worked as a tax lawyer, a profession she shares with the chief protagonist of her novel series, Rebecka Martinsson.

Larsson's writing career took off with the Rebecka Martinsson series, which gained significant popularity and critical acclaim. The first book in the series, Solstorm, was awarded the best first book by the Association of Swedish Crime Writers. It was released in the United Kingdom under the title The Savage Altar and was nominated for the Duncan Lawrie Dagger award.
