Barbara Davis is a successful author of mystery, history, and literary fiction, who hails from New England but was raised in the southern United States. After a fifteen-year career as a jewelry industry executive, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a fiction author. Davis has made a name for herself with several published works, including "The Secrets She Carried," "The Wishing Tide," "Summer at Hideaway Key," "Love, Alice," "When Never Comes," "The Last of the Moon Girls," "The Keeper of Happy Endings," and "The Echo of Old Books" (Penguin/Berkley and Lake Union).
In addition to her accomplishments as an author, Davis has an impressive background in business and information technology. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, helping them re-align Business Analysis services, critical and struggling projects, and establish operational infrastructure. As a dynamic and savvy consulting leader, Davis has over 20 years of diverse business experiences, including expertise in developing high-performing teams, re-organization, operational excellence, and organizational change management. She has served as an SME Editor for the 2014 PMI BA PRACTICE GUIDE, has been published in Strategize Magazine, and has spoken at Project Summit/BA World conferences across Canada, the United States, and India.
Davis has also championed technology standards and infrastructure for over 13 years, developing the world's first university-accredited Business Analysis diploma program and proprietary resource maturity and requirements methodologies. Prior to entering the technology field, she gained over 15 years of functional business experience in operational management, project management, change management, and training. Her diverse background and experiences have equipped her with the skills necessary to help companies overcome adversity and flourish.
Davis's life has not been without its challenges. As a first-generation Canadian and the daughter of a Polish-Moor-Mongolian immigrant family, she has overcome numerous adversities throughout her life. She leverages these life lessons and experiences to help companies in challenging circumstances. Throughout her career, Davis has interviewed and assessed hundreds of resources and has held various titles and roles, including Business & IT Portfolio Management, IT Operational Management, Methodologist, Solutions Consultant, Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Professional Skills Trainer.
