Becca Fitzpatrick is a successful American author, well-known for her young adult urban fantasy novels. Born on February 3, 1979, in North Platte, Nebraska, Fitzpatrick developed a love for reading at an early age, often sneaking under the covers with a flashlight to read Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books. Her passion for reading would later translate into a passion for writing, leading her to attend a writing class enrolled by her husband as a birthday present.
Fitzpatrick's writing career took off with the success of her New York Times bestselling series, Hush, Hush, which she began during her time in writing class. The series, which includes Hush, Hush; Crescendo; Silence; and Finale, debuted as New York Times best-sellers, cementing Fitzpatrick's place as a talented author in the young adult genre. Following the success of the Hush, Hush saga, Fitzpatrick released her fifth novel, Black Ice, on October 7, 2014. Her sixth novel, Dangerous Lies, was released in November 2015.
In addition to her love of reading and writing, Fitzpatrick enjoys various hobbies and pastimes. She has a fondness for searching through sale racks for reject shoes, running, and watching crime dramas on TV. Fitzpatrick also holds a degree in Community Health from Brigham Young University and has worked at an alternative high school in Provo as an accountant, secretary, and teacher. Despite her background in health, Fitzpatrick ultimately chose to pursue a career in storytelling, a decision that has led to her success as a highly rated author.
