Daisy Pearce is a talented author, best known for her psychological thriller novels. Born in Cornwall, she grew up in a smallholding surrounded by a community of hippies. Pearce's fascination with the macabre began at a young age when she read Stephen King's 'Cujo' and The Hamlyn Book of Horror. As a teenager, she started writing short stories, and her passion for writing only grew stronger over the years.
Pearce studied fashion journalism in university but soon realized that her true calling was in creative writing. She dropped out of college and started getting serious about her craft. Her debut short story, 'The Black Prince,' was published in One Eye Grey magazine, and another short story, 'The Brook Witch,' was performed on stage at the Small Story Cabaret in Lewes. In addition to her fiction writing, Pearce has also written articles about mental health online.
Pearce's debut novel, 'The Silence,' was published in 2020, and she followed it up with 'The Missing' in the same year. She is currently a staffer at the University of Sussex library, where she stacks shelves and listens to folklore and true crime podcasts. Pearce lives in Lewes, East Sussex with her nine-year-old daughter and a one-eyed Siamese cat. In 2015, she won the Chindi Authors Competition with her short story 'Worm Food,' and 'The Missing' made the long list for the MSlexia Novel ward. Pearce's writing is influenced by her fascination with the macabre, and her unique storytelling style has captivated readers worldwide.
