Daniel Hecht

Daniel Hecht was born in an artistic environment in Croton Falls, New York, where he was exposed to fine arts at a young age. This initial exposure sparked a lifelong development of artistic pursuits, including music and writing fiction stories. Hecht is an American writer who has published several accomplished books that have achieved international best-selling status. Some of his most notable works include "Skull Session" (1997), "Puppets" (2001), and the "Cree Black" series, which has a total of four books. His books have been translated into 12 different languages and published in 75 versions worldwide, including blockbusters in the United States, the UK, Israel, and Holland.

Daniel Hecht was born into an artist's community in Westchester County, New York, in 1946. Surrounded by artists in every discipline, Hecht saw the world from a unique perspective, which has informed his writing throughout his career. He has lived all over the United States and has worked at various jobs to make ends meet. His experiences as a mailman, logger, carpenter, musician, musical instrument builder, graphic designer, apple picker, farmhand, nonprofit organizational director, college administrator, and educator have provided him with a diverse education that has informed his writing. Hecht has lived in Vermont for many years, where he has three children and several cats. He is active on behalf of environmental causes and is known for being highly reclusive.
