Daryl Gregory, born in Chicago, Illinois in 1965, graduated from Illinois State University in 1987 with two degrees, one in English and another in theater. In the same year, he married Kathleen Bieschke, and they went on to have two children, Emma and Ian, before divorcing. Gregory is known for his exceptional work in writing genre-mixing novels, stories, and comics.
Gregory has won several prestigious awards, including the World Fantasy Award, Shirley Jackson Award, Crawford Award, Asimov Readers' Award, and Geffen Award. His work has been shortlisted for various other awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, and Sturgeon awards. His books have been translated into over a dozen languages and have been featured in many best-of-the-year lists from reputable sources such as NPR Books, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and Library Journal.
Some of Gregory's most notable works include "Revelator," "The Album of Dr. Moreau," "Spoonbenders," "We Are All Completely Fine," and "Harrison Squared." His short fiction has been collected in "Unpossible and Other Stories." In addition to writing novels, Gregory has written an interactive fiction game, "Flatline," for 3 Minute Games, and comics such as "Planet of the Apes." He is a frequent teacher of writing and regularly instructs at the Viable Paradise Writing Workshop. Gregory is currently working on new projects and resides in Oakland, California.
