Dave Stanton is a bestselling crime fiction author, born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1960. He moved to Northern California in 1961 and received a BA in journalism from San Jose State University in 1983. Over the years, he has worked a variety of jobs, including bartender, newspaper advertising salesman, furniture mover, debt collector, and technology salesman. He is currently living in San Jose, California, with his wife, Heidi, and has two children, Austin and Haley.
Stanton is the author of the "Dan Reno" series of novels, which consists of eight books, including "Stateline," "Dying for the Highlife," "Speed Metal Blues," "Dark Ice," "Hard Prejudice," "The Doomsday Girl," "Right Cross," and "The Asylum Thread." These books do not need to be read in chronological order and feature private investigator Dan Reno and his ex-cop buddy, Cody Gibbons.
Stanton's writing journey began in 2001 when he found himself working for a startup during the dot.com bubble. Realizing that the product he was hired to sell was doomed, he started writing to pass the time. The boredom at his cubicle turned into a novel, which he finished while working at a new job that required regular travel to Asia. Stanton's writing is inspired by his past experiences and old friends, some of whom are respectable citizens today, while others are in and out of jail. He hopes that readers will enjoy the Dan Reno novel series and can be reached at his email.
