Edward Underhill

Edwart Underhill is a talented author and composer who grew up in Wisconsin. From a young age, he was drawn to storytelling and music, passions that he would later pursue professionally. Underhill studied music composition at the Oberlin Conservatory and went on to receive a master's degree in film music composition from NYU. Today, he lives in California with his partner and a talkative black cat, where he writes music for cartoons and novels for teens.

As a queer trans man, Underhill brings his unique perspective to his writing. He has a talent for creating relatable characters and engaging stories that resonate with young adult readers. His debut novel, "Always the Almost," follows the journey of a teenage girl as she navigates the challenges of friendship, family, and first love. His second novel, "This Day Changes Everything," explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and the power of friendship.

Underhill's love for storytelling began in his childhood, where he would create his own adventures due to his inability to walk to anything. He wrote his first novel in his teens, and although it was not particularly good, it marked the beginning of his writing journey. In college, he focused on music composition, a passion that he still pursues today. He writes music during the day and stories at night, with the occasional break for gardening or spending time with his cat. Through his writing, Underhill continues to create compelling stories that speak to the experiences of young adults.
