Jodi Thomas is a highly acclaimed American author, best known for her romance novels. She is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, who has published over 30 books in both historical and contemporary genres. Thomas has gained a reputation for her distinctive and memorable stories, which often feature tension, humor, and passionate kisses. In 2006, Thomas was inducted into the RWA Hall of Fame for winning her third RITA for "The Texan's Reward." She also received the National Readers' Choice Award in 2009 for "Twisted Creek" and "Tall, Dark, and Texan."
Thomas was born in Amarillo, Texas, and is a fifth-generation Texan. Her grandmother was born in Texas in a covered wagon, and Thomas spent some time in Texas before moving to Lubbock. She attended Texas Tech University, where she earned a Master's degree in Family Studies. Thomas is deeply connected to her home state, and the majority of her novels are set in Texas.
In addition to her work as a novelist, Thomas is also a dedicated educator. She currently serves as Writer in Residence at West Texas A&M University, where she inspires students and alumni in their writing pursuits. Thomas loves traveling with her husband, renovating her house, and spending time with her adult sons and four grandchildren. In her spare time, she is also the owner of one fat cat.
