Jordy Rosenberg

Jordy Rosenberg is a highly acclaimed American author, particularly known for his work in historical fiction, gay & lesbian, and thriller genres. He has gained significant recognition for his debut novel, Confessions of the Fox, which has been praised as a mesmerizing and astonishing book by several literary magazines. The novel, set in 18th century London, tells a love story involving notorious thieves and queer subcultures, and has been described as crudite, irreverent, and a must-read. Confessions of the Fox was selected as the Best Summer Book of 2018 by Publisher's Weekly and was nominated for the Center for Fiction First Book Prize.

In addition to his work as an author, Jordy Rosenberg is also a Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His novel Confessions of the Fox was published in 2018 by Random House US/Canada and Atlantic Books UK, and a Czech translation was published by Paseka in 2021. Rosenberg's forthcoming hybrid work, The Day Unravels What the Night Has Woven, is set to be published by Random House/One World.

Rosenberg has received numerous fellowships and awards for his work, including from the Lannan Foundation, the Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation, The Ahmanson Foundation/J. Paul Getty Trust, the UCLA Center for 17th- and 18th-Century Studies, the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University, and the Clarion Foundation/Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Workshop. He is also the author of a scholarly monograph, Critical Enthusiasm: Capital Accumulation and the Transformation of Religious Passion, published by Oxford University Press. Rosenberg's work as a professor focuses on 18th-century Literature, Gender and Sexuality studies, and Critical Theory.
