Kasie West is a successful American author, well-known for her work in the Young Adult (YA), paranormal, and contemporary romance genres. She was born in California and attended Fresno State University, where she graduated with a degree that has no relation to her current writing career. Despite not realizing her passion for writing until later in her college years, West always excelled in writing, particularly in essay writing courses. She is best known for her Pivot Point series, which includes the debut novel "Pivot Point," published in 2013.\n \nWest's bibliography also includes several standalone novels in the contemporary romance and paranormal genres, all of which have been successful. Although she has recently focused more on contemporary romance, West does not express a preference for any particular genre. She has mentioned that contemporary romance comes more naturally to her, as she does not have to create new worlds or rules. Growing up, West was an avid reader and developed a love for writing later in life.
West is a mother of four and currently resides in California with her family. She enjoys spending time wake boarding, watching chick flicks and series such as "The Vampire Diaries" with family and friends, and drawing inspiration for her contemporary YA from movies. In her free time, West can often be found on the California coast in the summer months, escaping the heat of the Central Valley.
West's books have received recognition in the industry, with several being named ALA-YALSA Quick Picks, Junior Library Guild selections, and ALA-YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults books. She is represented by the talented and funny Michelle Wolfson.
