Kate Heartfield is a highly accomplished Canadian author, well-known for her works in the fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres. She was born in Kitchener, Ontario, and spent her formative years in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Heartfield pursued higher education and earned a political science degree from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Journalism from Carleton University.
Heartfield's career as a journalist followed her academic pursuits, and she eventually transitioned into teaching journalism at Carleton University.
