Kate R. Mathieson

Kate R. Mathieson is an Australian author, who has a passion for writing chick lit novels and memoirs. Her love for writing was ignited at the young age of eight, after being inspired by the Nancy Drew series. Mathieson had a desire to explore the world and reconnect with nature, which led her to take a one-way ticket to Africa in 2009. This experience became the foundation of her memoir, "Ways to Come Home," which was a finalist for the 2017 Finch Memoir Prize.

Mathieson is not only a writer but also a naturalist and poet. She is a lover of cheese, whiskey, and walking in the rain with her one-eyed rescue dog, Maximus. Her adventurous spirit has taken her to live in various parts of the world, including Scotland, England, New Zealand, Canada, and Taiwan. These experiences have provided her with a wealth of inspiration for her writing. Currently, she is a writer-in-residence and is working on her first romantic comedy fiction book.

In addition to her memoir, Mathieson is also known for her best-selling fictional novel, "Just As You Are," published by Harper Collins. This heartwarming novel has been well-received and has added to her growing success as an author. Mathieson currently resides in Sydney, Australia, by the beach, where she continues to write and draw inspiration from her surroundings.
