Kathy Bennett is a successful American author, known for her suspense and police procedural novels. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California, Bennett has lived in California her entire life and had a happy childhood as the youngest of three siblings.
Prior to her career as an author, Bennett spent 21 years as a police officer in Los Angeles. Her career in law enforcement was varied and included working as a senior lead officer, firearms instructor, crime analyst, field training officer, and undercover officer. Bennett's time as a police officer was not without recognition, as she was named Officer of the Quarter twice and Officer of the Year once.
Bennett's debut novel, "A Dozen Deadly Roses," was released in 2011 and quickly became a bestseller at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Her second novel, "A Deadly Blessing," was the first in the series featuring LAPD Detective Maddie Divine and was also a bestseller at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The book was chosen by Barnes and Noble as a Best Book of 2012. Bennett's third book, "A Deadly Justice," was released in the fall of 2013 and has been climbing the charts. She is currently working on her next book.
In addition to her writing, Bennett enjoys working out, gardening, and bowling. She now lives in Idaho with her husband, two energetic Labrador retrievers, and one mellow cat. She also loves spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
