Kevin Tinto is an American author who has gained recognition for his ICE trilogy of books. The first book in the series, 'Ice,' was released in 2015, marking the beginning of the trilogy. Tinto is a successful independently published author who has sold over 600,000 copies of his ICE series worldwide. The series has won several awards, including the 2016 National Generation Best Indie Book for 'Ice,' and the 2021 Audiobook Reviewer's Best Audiobook of the Year, Listeners Choice Award, and Best Series for 'Ice' and 'Ice Genesis.'
Tinto was born in Wallace, Idaho, and moved frequently during his childhood due to his father's career as a Civil Engineer building dams across the United States. His family eventually settled in Novato, California, where he attended high school, became an Eagle Scout, and graduated from Sacramento State University with a major in Business Marketing. After college, Tinto worked in sales and marketing for Chesebrough-Ponds, News Corporation, and Rupert Murdock's newspaper and magazine businesses. In the 1990s, he started his own marketing company, American Marketing and Communication, Inc. Tinto comes from a family of writers, including his father, Captain Terry Reece, and his aunt, Colleen Reece, who have both published several books.
Tinto's adventure writing comes naturally to him as he enjoys high-altitude mountaineering, wreck diving, offshore fishing, cycling across the US, solo motorcycling to Alaska, and much more. He is currently working on his next print and film project, 'Vortex,' which is based on a true story. Tinto resides in Tiburon and is dedicated to writing and producing captivating stories for his readers.
