Ki Longfellow

Ki Longfellow is a renowned author, born on Staten Island, New York, to a French-Irish mother and an Iroquois father. She grew up in Hawaii and Marin County, California, but later lived in France and England for many years. Longfellow is the widow of the complete artist Vivian Stanshall, who was a British national treasure. In England, Longfellow created and sailed the Thekla, a 180 foot Baltic Trader, to the port of Bristol where it became the Old Profanity Showboat. She and her late husband wrote and staged a unique musical, "Stinkfoot, a Comic Opera," which received delighted, if slightly puzzled, national reviews.

Longfellow's first book, "China Blues," was the subject of a bidding war and her second novel, "Chasing Women," introduced her to Hollywood, marking the beginning of a long and fascinating journey. However, after her husband's death in 1995, Longfellow stopped writing and lived on Standing Room Only Farm in Vermont. She eventually began writing again, focusing on her direct experience with the Divine at the age of 19. She chose the figure of Mary Magdalene to tell this tale in her novel "The Secret Magdalene."

In addition to "The Secret Magdalene," Longfellow has written several other novels, including "Flow Down Like Silver," a book about the numinous and gifted Hypatia of Alexandria. She has also ventured into the genre of supernatural horror with "Houdini Heart," which was selected by the Horror Writers of America as one of a handful of books to be considered for their 2011 Bram Stoker Award for Best Horror Novel. Longfellow's Sam Russo noir murder mystery series includes "Shadow Roll," "Good Dog, Bad Dog," and "The Girl in the Next Room."

Longfellow currently lives between Somerset, England and Olympia, Washington. She continues to write and publish books, with her latest release being "The White Bee," the third and last book in her Divine Feminine series. In late January of 2018, she published the art book, biography, and memoir she'd promised Vivian Stanshall she would one day write for him: "The Illustrated Vivian Stanshall, a Fairytale of Grimm Art". In the early months of 2018 three more of her books were optioned for Hollywood, one as a high end television mini-series and two as films.
