Kiera Cass

Kiera Cass is a successful American author, best known for her young adult dystopian fiction and romance novels. Born in May 1981 in South Carolina, Cass grew up with a mix of cultural influences, as her father is Puerto Rican and her mother is white. She has fondly referred to herself as a proud child of the 80's. Cass's ambition in her early years was to become a performer, and she even pursued a major in Musical Theatre at Coastal Carolina University. However, she later switched her focus to History, ultimately graduating from Radford University with a degree in the subject.

Cass is the New York Times Bestselling author of “The Selection” series, which was optioned for a TV series but has not yet been picked up. She is currently working on a new series, which she has referred to as “238.” Cass published the first book in The Selection trilogy, The Selection, in 2012 with HarperTeen. In addition to her writing, Cass is also an avid reader, enjoying a wide variety of books. She is also a fan of elephants, dancing, and making videos. Cass is married and has children, and she currently resides in Blacksburg, Virginia with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, making videos, and indulging in unhealthy amounts of cake.
