Kim Heacox is an accomplished author with more than a dozen books to his name, including five published by National Geographic. He has received the National Outdoor Book Award twice, first in 2015 for his novel "Jimmy Bluefeather," which is notable for being the only work of fiction to win the award in the past 25 years. He was again honored in 2020 with the award for his memoir "The Only Kayak," which was recognized as an "outdoor classic."
In addition to his written work, Heacox is also a contributor to The Guardian, where he writes opinion-editorials in celebration and defense of the natural world.
