Lisa Schroeder is a successful author of young adult and children’s novels. She is best known for her “Its Raining Cupcakes” series and the “Charmed Life” series. Schroeder grew up in Salem, Oregon, where she developed a love for reading at a young age. She would spend hours at the Salem Public Library, immersing herself in books of all kinds. This early love for reading would later inspire her to pursue a career in writing.
After graduating from Lebanon Union High School, Schroeder attended Oregon State University, where she studied Business Administration. She then went on to work in human resources for several years before finally deciding to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time author. Schroeder had always known that she wanted to be a writer, as books had always been a source of comfort and companionship for her throughout her childhood. She wanted to create novels that would connect with teens and kids in the same way that her favorite books had connected with her.
Schroeder began writing seriously in 2003 and sold her first picture book by 2005. However, it took several more years and many rejections before she finally sold her first novel in 2007. Since then, she has written over twenty books for kids and teens, including popular verse novels like “I Heart You, You Haunt Me” and “Chasing Brooklyn,” as well as middle grade novels like “It’s Raining Cupcakes” and “See You on a Starry Night.” Her books have been translated into foreign languages and have been selected for state reading lists.
Schroeder currently lives in Oregon with her family, where she enjoys spending time reading, writing, baking, and hiking. She is an active presence on social media, with accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram, where she shares updates on her writing, as well as glimpses into her everyday life. Through her writing, Schroeder continues to connect with teens and kids, creating novels that inspire, entertain, and resonate with readers of all ages.
