Marc Turner

Marc Turner was born in Toronto, Canada, but grew up in England. He pursued his higher education at Lincoln College, Oxford University, where he graduated in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in law. Upon graduation, he joined a top ten law firm in the City of London. However, he soon realized that this career path did not align with his desire for work-life balance. Consequently, he moved first to Leeds and then to Durham, hoping to find a better balance. Yet, even in Durham, he found the work-life balance elusive.

In 2007, rather than moving to Scotland, Turner decided to start working part-time to dedicate more time to his passion for writing. This change in career path proved successful as he managed to sell his debut epic fantasy novel, 'When the Heavens Fall'. After the sale of his debut novel, he began writing full-time. His writing is influenced by authors such as Steven Erikson and Joe Abercrombie, and he is known for writing fast-paced, multi-threaded novels with a liberal sprinkling of humor. His novels are characterized by panoramic scales and memorable characters.

Turner currently resides in Durham, England, with his wife and son. He is a strong believer in the importance of daydreaming in his work and has learned from experience that he cannot not write. Despite the challenges he faced in his career, he persevered and found success in writing, which has brought him both personal fulfillment and professional success.
