Mark Parragh is a fiction author who was born and raised in rural Virginia. From a young age, he developed a love for spy stories, fueled by his enjoyment of James Bond movies and Mission Impossible reruns. He discovered a collection of old paperbacks in his attic and quickly became engrossed in works by authors such as Alistair MacLean, Eric Ambler, and Robert Ludlum.
Parragh is best known for his John Crane series of spy thrillers. The series features a former US Government agent, John Crane, who now works for a young and idealistic Silicon Valley billionaire named Josh Sulenski. The Crane series is set in a post-cold war world where power is increasingly in the hands of wealthy private figures, and the series has been compared to the James Bond series and the works of John D. MacDonald.
In addition to his work as an author, Parragh has also worked as a trade and media journalist, as well as in the film industry as a screenwriter and story editor. Despite his success, Parragh continues to reside in Virginia with his wife and young daughter. His experiences growing up in rural Virginia, as well as his diverse professional background, have come together to inform his unique and engaging writing style.
